KSNB's Leroy Triggs and Ian Mason reported on a dust explosion occurred late Tuesday night at the KAAPA Partners Aurora, LLC ethanol plant, located in Aurora, Nebraska. The explosion took place in the grain handling area of the facility when dust in the grain elevator ignited due to an unknown heat source.
The Aurora Volunteer Fire Department responded swiftly, supported by the Aurora Police Department, the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, and the Nebraska State Fire Marshal. Crews were dispatched around 9 p.m. and worked on the scene until 11:30 p.m. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
