KETV 7 Omaha's Jake Anderson, Aaron Hegarty and Beth Carlson reported that officials said Wednesday that the search for three people missing after an explosion at Horizon Biofuels plant has shifted to a recovery operation.
Fremont Mayor Joey Spellerberg said crews are searching for a male employee and two young girls who were inside when the facility exploded just before noon Tuesday.
Fire officials said the building remains on fire and structurally unsafe for entry. Nebraska Task Force One is working on “delayering” the structure to reach the victims.
Authorities are in contact with victims’ families while the cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
