One Worker Injured from Dust Explosion at Port of Vancouver

An employee has suffered extensive second-degree burns after a dust explosion at the Alliance Grain Terminal in the Port of Vancouver, according to reporting by Ian Holliday at CTVNewsVancouver.ca.

A hatch that was left open at the bottom of a silo being cleaned by the victim, and a coworker was determined to have caused the dust explosion. Firefighters were able to contain the resulting fire by dousing the slow in water from three hoses. Officials hope that the worker will recover with limited scaring.
