
U.S. wheat export sales surged during the week ending March 5, with net sales of 455,400 metric tons for marketing year 2025/26 up 49% from the prior four-week average, according to the Foreign Agricultural Service's weekly export sales report.
Mexico led wheat purchases with 238,600 metric tons, followed by China at 68,900 metric tons, Japan at 66,700 metric tons, the Philippines at 60,000 metric tons and Colombia at 16,100 metric tons. Wheat exports totaled 432,000 metric tons, up 24% from the previous week, with primary destinations including China, Mexico, Thailand, Taiwan and Venezuela.
Corn sales decline but remain strong
Net corn sales of 1,503,300 metric tons for 2025/26 were down 26% from the previous week and 4% from the prior four-week average. Japan led corn purchases at 670,000 metric tons, followed by Mexico at 367,600 metric tons, South Korea at 209,100 metric tons, Colombia at 108,700 metric tons and Taiwan at 82,700 metric tons.
Corn exports reached 1,684,800 metric tons, down 1% from both the previous week and the prior four-week average. Mexico received the largest share at 477,300 metric tons, followed by Japan, Colombia, South Korea and the Philippines.
Soybean sales rise 19%
Net soybean sales of 456,700 metric tons for 2025/26 were up 19% from the previous week but down 2% from the prior four-week average. Indonesia led purchases at 204,300 metric tons, followed by Mexico at 129,900 metric tons, Egypt at 107,800 metric tons, China at 83,100 metric tons and Vietnam at 35,500 metric tons.
Soybean exports totaled 995,300 metric tons, down 11% from the previous week and 9% from the prior four-week average. China was the top destination at 477,100 metric tons, followed by Egypt, Indonesia, Mexico and Colombia.
Cotton exports hit marketing-year high
Upland cotton net sales totaled 253,200 running bales for 2025/26, up 68% from the previous week. Vietnam led purchases at 116,300 running bales, followed by Bangladesh, Pakistan, India and Indonesia.
Cotton exports reached a marketing-year high of 370,100 running bales, up 31% from the previous week and 77% from the prior four-week average. Vietnam received 148,500 running bales, followed by Pakistan, Turkey, Mexico and Indonesia.
Livestock products show mixed results
Beef net sales of 25,400 metric tons marked a marketing-year high, up 87% from the prior four-week average, with South Korea and Japan leading purchases. Pork net sales of 23,700 metric tons hit a marketing-year low, down 34% from the previous week, though exports remained steady at 38,900 metric tons.
