Several departments responded to a grain dryer fire at Sheppard Grain in Phelps, NY, on Saturday.
No injuries were reported and the fire was contained to the grain dryer.
According to the Oaks Corners Fire Department, first arriving units found a working fire in a two-story hose dryer containing 32 tons of corn.
Access to the inside of the dryer was difficult so the corn had to be off-loaded. The lack of town water in the area meant water had to be brought to the scene in tankers.
The fire was declared under control in a little over an hour.
