JBS executive says net zero goal was 'never a promise'

Whether or not JBS’s sustainability commitments are genuine has been called into question.

In an interview with Reuters, JBS’s Chief Sustainability Officer Jason Weller told the news agency that the company’s goal to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040 was an “aspiration.”

“It was never a promise that JBS was going to make this happen,” said Weller.
