More than 1,800 Iowa Corn Grower Association members and their families attended the Iowa Corn 350, Powered by Ethanol NASCAR Cup Series at Iowa Speedway on Sunday to promote ethanol’s performance in racing.
The race serves as a platform to promote Unleaded 88, a fuel blend containing 15% ethanol made from Iowa-grown corn that powers NASCAR engines.
“Iowa corn fields surround the track, and it’s incredible to partner with NASCAR to use their national platform to make that connection to attendees not only in the stands, but to the millions of viewers watching at home,” said Joe Roberts, Iowa Corn Promotion Board president and farmer from Belmond.
Iowa drivers saved an average of 15 cents per gallon when fueling up with Unleaded 88 in 2025, for a combined savings of over $60 million across the state. For one Iowa household, those savings equate to roughly $400 a year.
Roberts said Iowa corn farmers lead the nation in corn production and continue to produce more with less.
“If NASCAR trusts Unleaded 88 to give them the power and performance they need to stay competitive, you can trust it too, while feeling good about using a fuel that is cheaper, cleaner and homegrown by Iowa’s corn farmers,” Roberts said.
Iowa Corn is working to allow nationwide, year-round E15 sales across the country.
