GROWMARK joins USGBC as new member

The agricultural cooperative's broad retail and service footprint adds to USGBC's market development coalition.

The U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council has added GROWMARK as a new member, expanding the council’s roster with an agricultural cooperative that spans retail and service operations in the U.S. and Canada. The change could matter because it brings a large, diversified ag supply-and-services participant into a group focused on market development and trade tied to grains and bioproducts.

USGBC announced it “recently welcomed GROWMARK to its membership” in a website post dated Feb. 28. Beyond confirming the new membership, the post did not disclose details such as membership tier, dues, or the scope of GROWMARK’s participation.

GROWMARK is a agricultural cooperative serving retailers, businesses and customers in the U.S. and Canada and provides fuels and lubricants, crop protection products and seed, along with construction services, equipment and grain marketing assistance.

The membership addition could increase expectations for both organizations to translate broad alignment into specific priorities. USGBC frames its mission with the tagline “DEVELOPING MARKETS. ENABLING TRADE. IMPROVING LIVES.” and GROWMARK’s mix of fuels and lubricants alongside grain marketing assistance may connect to areas where grains and bioproducts interests often intersect, even though the post does not specify any planned initiatives.
