The Grain Elevator and Processing Society (GEAPS) has unveiled two new digital resources designed to strengthen the grain industry’s workforce development efforts. The member-exclusive tools - an interactive training program and industry glossary - aim to give new employees the knowledge and confidence needed to build successful careers in grain handling and processing.

“Finding workers is hard,” said GEAPS Executive Director John Caupert. “These resources provide new employees with a solid foundation as they enter this vital industry.” The self-paced “Welcome to the Grain Industry” course covers fundamentals, career paths and safety protocols, culminating in a completion certificate.

Complementing the training is the GEAPS Glossary, which standardizes industry terminology to improve team communication. “We’re creating a shared language that benefits both new and experienced professionals,” Caupert noted.

GEAPS’ Director of Special Projects Betsy Polis emphasized the initiative’s broader impact: “Beyond education, we want to inspire people to see their role in feeding and fueling the world.”

The resources are now available to GEAPS members as part of the organization’s commitment to advancing grain industry education and workforce development.
