Landus, Iowa's largest farmer-owned cooperative, has initiated a nationwide search for its next Chief Executive Officer. The move comes after extensive consultations with farmer-owners and employees, gathering crucial feedback to identify the qualities required in the cooperative's next leader.
Board Chairman Matt Chambers emphasized the significance of this transition, stating, "Landus is at an important turning point. Sam's leadership has given us a strong foundation to navigate this challenging transition and move forward with confidence."
The cooperative is seeking a forward-thinking, proven leader who understands the vital role cooperatives play in supporting Iowa farms and rural communities. The ideal candidate must be capable of earning stakeholder trust and confidently guiding the cooperative through the evolving agricultural economy.
Chambers added, "While our search for a CEO is nationwide, one thing is non-negotiable — the core of our business is here in Iowa, and the success of Landus' farmers must be at the heart of cooperative decisions."
In recent years, Landus has made significant investments in infrastructure and technology to help farmers manage risk and improve efficiency. The incoming CEO will be tasked with building on this progress while maintaining the cooperative's long-standing values.
During the search process, Sam Caton will continue to serve as interim CEO. Landus remains committed to delivering value to its farmer-owners, supporting employees, and investing in the future of Iowa agriculture throughout the transition.
The Board has engaged Medallion Partners, a national executive search firm, to lead the confidential process. Interested candidates are encouraged to contact Medallion at [email protected].
