Barchart announced today that Carl, its AI-powered assistant within the cmdtyView platform, has won “AgTech Innovation of the Year” in the 2026 AgTech Breakthrough Awards.
The annual awards program recognizes leading technologies and companies advancing agriculture and food production worldwide.
Carl launched in April 2026 and brings conversational AI directly into cmdtyView’s market intelligence and analytics platform. Commodity professionals can ask Carl to identify the best tools for their objectives, locate specific datasets across thousands of global markets or analyze pricing, fundamentals, news and technicals using everyday language.
The assistant works across grains, oilseeds, softs, energy, metals and financial markets, helping users move from questions to insights faster.
