USGBC staff engage at Leman China Swine Conference to strengthen ties

USGBC gains insights on feed innovation and market adaptation amid China’s hog price challenges.

Staff from the U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council (USGBC) recently participated in the 14th Leman China Swine Conference and World Swine Industry Expo in Changsha to deepen their understanding of China’s evolving swine industry and build connections with end-users.

The event, a leading global platform for swine professionals, focused on topics such as animal health, feed efficiency, biosecurity, precision nutrition, and strategies to adapt amid ongoing hog price declines.

USGBC senior program coordinator Linda Li and marketing specialist Xiaoming Wang engaged in technical sessions and met with major industry players including Twins Group, Muyuan Group, and Charoen Pokphand Group.

“These discussions provided valuable insights into how producers are reformulating feed, using alternative ingredients, and improving management to maintain efficiency and reduce costs,” Li said.

The exchanges will help guide USGBC’s future livestock programming and support the role of U.S. grains as high-value inputs in China’s modern feed industry, ensuring continued cooperation amid market challenges.
