No Injuries from Minnesota Grain Pearling Fire

Incident occurred when an electric motor overheated and set fire to the wood floor beneath it

No one was injured in a fire at Minnesota Grain Pearling in East Grand Forks, ND, Sunday afternoon, Feb. 21.

The Grand Forks Herald reports crews responded to a report of smoke coming from the five-story building, which was unoccupied at the time. Crews extinguished the fire within 10 minutes upon arrival.

The cause of the fire was determined to be an electric motor that overheated and started the wood floor underneath it on fire.
