US corn exports up 19% from average

Corn shipments rose 19 percent from the four-week average while wheat sales for the new marketing year reached 666,300 metric tons.

U.S. corn exports totaled 1,916,200 metric tons for the week ending June 4, up 11 percent from the previous week and 19 percent from the prior four-week average, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s weekly export sales report.

The destinations were primarily Mexico, Spain, South Korea, Japan and Colombia. Net sales of 1,000,400 metric tons for the current marketing year were up 13 percent from the previous week but down 15 percent from the prior four-week average.

Wheat sales shift to new marketing year

Net sales of 666,300 metric tons for the 2026-2027 marketing year, which began June 1, were primarily for Mexico, Taiwan, the Philippines, Japan and Indonesia. A total of 298,600 metric tons in sales were carried over from the 2025-2026 marketing year, which ended May 31.

Accumulated exports for the year ending May 31 reached 23,408,000 metric tons, up 11 percent from the prior year’s total of 21,107,400 metric tons. Exports for the period ending May 31 totaled 145,600 metric tons, with destinations primarily to Mexico, South Korea, Venezuela, Trinidad and Tobago, and Burma.

Early June exports of 266,100 metric tons went primarily to Mexico, Indonesia, the Philippines, Venezuela and Italy.

Soybeans and soybean products

Net sales of 211,300 metric tons of soybeans for 2025-2026 were down 24 percent from the previous week and 18 percent from the prior four-week average. Increases were primarily for Egypt, Japan, Taiwan, Mexico and Canada.

Exports of 411,500 metric tons were down 28 percent from the previous week and 30 percent from the prior four-week average. The destinations were primarily Egypt, Japan, Mexico, China and Indonesia.

Soybean cake and meal net sales of 395,700 metric tons for 2025-2026 were up noticeably from the previous week and 23 percent from the prior four-week average. Increases were primarily for the Philippines, Vietnam, Mexico, Ecuador and Burma.

Cotton reaches marketing-year high

Upland cotton net sales totaling 207,000 running bales for 2025-2026 were up 12 percent from the previous week and 60 percent from the prior four-week average. Increases were primarily for Vietnam, Pakistan, India, Indonesia and Bangladesh.

Pima cotton exports of 22,900 running bales marked a marketing-year high, up 22 percent from the previous week and 90 percent from the prior four-week average. The destinations were primarily India, Pakistan, China, Vietnam and Djibouti.

Meat exports increase

Beef net sales of 19,000 metric tons for 2026 were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior four-week average. Increases were primarily for South Korea, Japan, Mexico, Canada and Taiwan.

Exports of 15,200 metric tons were up 48 percent from the previous week and 22 percent from the prior four-week average.

Pork exports of 34,200 metric tons were up 13 percent from the previous week and 3 percent from the prior four-week average. The destinations were primarily Mexico, Japan, China, South Korea and Colombia.
