Cofco LogoCOFCO International signed a memorandum of understanding today with Thailand’s Thanakorn Vegetable Oil Products to expand trade in certified sustainable soybeans and soy-based products, building on shipments that began in 2025.

The agreement, signed at COFCO’s Geneva headquarters, establishes the COFCO International Responsible Agriculture Standard as the reference framework for bilateral trade between the companies. Over time, they aim to transition most volumes into COFCO Standard-certified supply.

Digital tools strengthen transparency

The companies plan to collaborate on digital and data-driven tools, including satellite monitoring and traceability systems, to strengthen transparency and track sustainability performance across the soy supply chain.

Thanakorn ranks among Thailand’s largest vegetable oil and animal feed producers, making the partnership significant for COFCO’s expansion in Southeast Asian markets.

Certified volumes growing rapidly

COFCO International is scaling supply certified under its standard, which supports production of traceable, lower-carbon commodities by ensuring no land use change since 2020. The standard also promotes nature-positive on-farm practices and respect for human and labor rights.

The company’s certified volumes of grains and oilseeds sourced in South America rose 46 percent in 2025, with flows to Asia increasing across China, Thailand, Bangladesh and Vietnam.

Standard helps emission reduction

The COFCO Standard helps customers reduce emissions linked to the products they source and fulfill their responsible sourcing commitments, addressing growing demand for sustainable feed ingredients in aquaculture and livestock sectors.
