U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council

Leaders from the U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council (USGBC) recently joined a U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) agricultural trade mission in Mexico to reinforce trade relations and explore opportunities for expanding exports. The delegation included USGBC President Ryan LeGrand, Vice Chairman Jay Reiners, staff from the Mexico City office, and partners such as Ringneck Energy, Growth Energy, the Renewable Fuels Association and the National Sorghum Producers.

“Mexico is the top export market for U.S. producers and has the economic and demographic potential to continue expanding and setting new export records,” LeGrand said. He highlighted the potential for increasing ethanol exports, which could significantly boost the market.

The mission featured briefings on Mexico’s progress toward an E10 ethanol blending rate and discussions with PEMEX, Mexico’s national petroleum company, about advancing biofuel blending and logistics. USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins expressed strong support for U.S. agricultural exports during a reception at the U.S. Ambassador’s residence.

Further meetings included key Mexican industry groups and a roundtable at the American Chamber of Commerce of Mexico to coordinate marketing strategies. LeGrand emphasized the importance of Mexico as a reliable customer and praised Secretary Rollins’ commitment to supporting U.S. farmers through export growth.
