
The U.S. Department of Agriculture reported significant export sales of soybeans and soybean meal for the 2025/2026 marketing year in its latest Weekly Export Sales report covering August 29-September 4.
Unknown buyers purchased 327,650 metric tons of soybeans, contributing to net sales of 541,100 metric tons for the new marketing year that began September 1. Other major soybean buyers included Taiwan with 62,000 metric tons and Indonesia with 32,900 metric tons.
The Philippines emerged as a major buyer of U.S. soybean meal, securing 185,000 metric tons in a single transaction. This purchase was part of total net soybean meal sales of 324,100 metric tons for 2025/2026, with Colombia adding another 37,100 metric tons and Mexico purchasing 14,900 metric tons.
Corn sales for the new marketing year reached 539,900 metric tons, primarily to Mexico (256,500 MT), Japan (143,700 MT) and Vietnam (74,500 MT).
Wheat export sales totaled 305,400 metric tons, down 43 percent from the prior four-week average. Major wheat destinations included Japan (78,600 MT), Indonesia (70,000 MT) and the Philippines (41,000 MT).
Cotton sales declined 47 percent from the previous week to 129,600 running bales, with Vietnam purchasing nearly half of the total at 61,500 bales.
