Windstorm destroys roof of century-old grain elevator in Reed Point, Montana

Historic landmark that drew photographers and served as community icon suffers severe damage as powerful winds tear off top structure.

KTVQ's Charlie Klepps reported that s windstorm tore the roof off a historic grain elevator in Reed Point last week, leaving residents heartbroken about the future of a structure that has defined the small town's skyline for more than a century.

Last week, powerful winds tore the roof from the top of the building, smashing part of the structure below.

The Reed Point elevator is not alone. In December, a fire devastated the grain elevator in Wolf Point. Just months before, two grain elevators were knocked down in Havre.
