The cooperative will also sell two facilities in moves that will strengthen its grain network and improve market access.

CHS Inc. has agreed to purchase Scoular's grain facility in Holdrege, Nebraska, while simultaneously selling two of its own Nebraska facilities to another cooperative, the company announced today.

The nation's largest farmer-owned cooperative expects to close the Holdrege acquisition before the end of August 2025. The facility will serve primarily as a seasonal overflow location for the existing CHS operation in Holdrege.

"This acquisition in Holdrege reflects our ongoing strategy to optimize the CHS supply chain and invest in the long-term success of our farmer-owners," said Kent Mulder, vice president of operations for CHS.

As part of the strategic realignment, CHS is selling its facilities in Roseland and Bladen, Nebraska, to Cooperative Producers, Inc. (CPI), a farmer-owned cooperative headquartered in Hastings.

The combined moves are designed to strengthen grain origination and transportation capabilities for CHS while creating new efficiencies in the cooperative system.

"The enhanced speed and space of the Holdrege facility create global market opportunities for Nebraska farmers," Mulder said.

CHS indicated it is working closely with CPI to ensure a smooth transition for the Roseland and Bladen locations, noting that these facilities provide strategic value for CPI given their alignment with the cooperative's existing trade territory.
