Central Ontario FS has signed a purchase agreement to acquire Haley’s Elevator Inc., the company announced this week.
The retail division of GROWMARK, Inc. will operate the Burford facility with Great Lakes Grain to provide grain marketing services in Brant, Norfolk and Oxford Counties as part of its grain co-operative system.
Michael Haley will continue to operate the facility during the transition to maintain continuity for local farmers. Grain contracting for the location will be coordinated through Central Ontario FS’s Ayr Elevator.
“This acquisition represents a step in the continued growth of our grain elevator system,” said Frank Barron, division manager of Central Ontario FS, in a statement. “It expands our ability to serve growers in the region.”
Matthew van Sintern-Dick, general manager of Great Lakes Grain, said the purchase will help the company better serve producers in the three counties.

Central Ontario FS was founded Sept. 1, 2024, from the merger of two retail divisions: FS PARTNERS and UPI Energy FS. The company provides agronomic, precision agriculture and energy products and services.
Great Lakes Grain operates 27 locations from Windsor to Ottawa and north to Georgian Bay. The company is a partnership between AGRIS Co-operative Ltd., GROWMARK, Inc. and Embrun Co-op.
The partnership has more than 20 million bushels of storage capacity and markets more than 50 million bushels of grain annually, serving farmers across southwestern and eastern Ontario.
