DTN announced Tuesday it has acquired Canadian agtech company Grain Discovery, expanding its digital capabilities for grain transactions and sustainability tracking.
The acquisition will enhance DTN’s upcoming Ag Hub platform, set to launch this fall. The platform will provide a digital twin of U.S. agriculture at the farm level, offering solutions for grain procurement, retail operations and sustainability initiatives.
“Grain buyers and producers need to have immediate access to each other in order to make real-time decisions whether they’re at their desk, in a truck, or standing in a field,” said Grey Montgomery, general manager for agriculture at DTN. “Grain Discovery accelerates our time to market for multiple DTN ag solutions – particularly for ethanol plants seeking details to qualify for 45z tax credits.”
Grain Discovery’s platform provides tools for seamless grain transactions, grower relationship management and farm-level sustainability data capture with end-to-end traceability.
Rory O’Sullivan, co-founder and CEO of Grain Discovery, said the acquisition provides “brand trust and access to hundreds of customers across the U.S. market.”
Existing Grain Discovery customers will maintain access to current tools while gaining expanded DTN insights and sustainability capabilities over the next year.
