Corn, soybean exports fall in weekly report

Soybean shipments hit marketing-year low while corn exports drop 17 percent from previous week.

U.S. grain and agricultural commodity exports showed significant declines during the week ending June 18, 2026, with corn and soybean shipments falling sharply from recent averages, according to the latest Foreign Agricultural Service Weekly Export Sales Report.

Corn exports drop from previous weeks

Net sales of corn for the 2025/2026 marketing year totaled 743,100 metric tons, down 36 percent from the previous week and 27 percent from the prior four-week average. Mexico led purchases at 307,300 metric tons, followed by Japan at 161,700 metric tons and Colombia at 98,400 metric tons.

Corn exports reached 1,500,100 metric tons but fell 17 percent from the previous week and 15 percent from the prior four-week average. Mexico received the largest share at 452,100 metric tons, with Japan taking 323,200 metric tons and South Korea importing 289,000 metric tons.

For the 2026/2027 marketing year, net sales of 735,900 metric tons were reported, with Mexico accounting for 295,500 metric tons and Japan purchasing 250,000 metric tons.

Soybean shipments reach marketing-year low

Soybean exports of 217,000 metric tons marked a marketing-year low, down 61 percent from the previous week and 59 percent from the prior four-week average. Mexico received 70,800 metric tons and China took 69,500 metric tons.

Despite weak exports, net sales for 2025/2026 totaled 455,400 metric tons, up 7 percent from the previous week and 50 percent from the prior four-week average. Unknown destinations accounted for 263,100 metric tons, while Algeria purchased 89,000 metric tons.

For 2026/2027, net sales jumped to 902,200 metric tons, with unknown destinations representing 529,000 metric tons and China buying 200,000 metric tons.

Wheat sales exceed 500,000 metric tons

Wheat net sales reached 504,500 metric tons for 2026/2027, led by Mexico at 204,400 metric tons and Japan at 118,700 metric tons. Bangladesh purchased 55,000 metric tons, while Chile bought an equal amount.

Wheat exports totaled 481,500 metric tons, with Japan receiving 128,800 metric tons, the Philippines taking 115,900 metric tons, and South Korea importing 78,300 metric tons.
