The National Oilseed Processors Association has hired Erik Janus as its new director of regulatory affairs, the trade group announced Tuesday.
Janus will work in a shared role with NOPA and the American Oil Chemists’ Society, reflecting a formal partnership between the two organizations that spans more than 40 years. He will provide technical guidance to member companies of both groups.
With over 25 years of experience developing regulatory strategies across multiple sectors, Janus has held senior regulatory positions at Vive Crop Protection, Monsanto and CropLife America. He also founded his own consulting firm and has extensive experience working with federal agencies including the EPA, FDA and USDA.
“We are excited to welcome Erik to the NOPA team,” said Devin Mogler, NOPA president and CEO. “Erik will be a great resource to our members to help them navigate a complex regulatory landscape.”
Janus holds a Master of Science in environmental science and policy from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Maryland.
