The U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council, alongside the National Corn Growers Association and state partners, held five trade policy academies in 2025 to help farmers understand global market developments.

The academies took place in Iowa, Michigan, North Dakota, Wisconsin and Missouri, offering farmers and agribusinesses free access to expert insights on domestic and international trade policies, market trends, and logistics. “U.S. farmers feed and fuel the world with the work they do every day, but there are countless factors that go into overall demand and the prices they receive for products,” said Ellen S. Zimmerman, USGBC director of industry relations.

Zimmerman led the sessions, inviting USGBC staff and industry experts to provide timely updates. Andrew Brandt, USGBC director of trade policy, also engaged growers and council members to connect farming practices with global market dynamics.

“The Council is proud to offer TPAs at no cost for growers and agribusinesses to stay informed,” Zimmerman said. Planning is already underway for more academies in 2026 to continue supporting rural communities in navigating the global marketplace.
