The U.S. Grains Council (USGC) recently held a pivotal event in Tokyo to unveil the results of its 2024/2025 Corn Harvest Quality Report to international buyers. The presentation, led by USGC Director Stella Qian and corn industry representatives Paul Gieselman and Dylan Rosier, showcased the exceptional quality and availability of the U.S. corn crop.
This year's report, the 14th in the annual series, revealed that favorable growing conditions contributed to the highest projected average yield on record. The study found that 89.2% of samples met U.S. No. 1 grade requirements, with 96.2% meeting U.S. No. 2 grade standards, underscoring the crop's superior quality.
Dylan Rosier emphasized the report's significance, stating, "Customers around the world look forward to the Council's various annual crop quality reports because they trust the studies' data and know it helps them make informed purchases over the next year."
The event also addressed broader industry topics, including international demand analysis, trade policy updates, and the sustainability benefits of U.S. corn. Additionally, the USGC delegation engaged in high-level meetings with Japanese government officials and industry representatives, discussing food security laws, ethanol blending goals, and potential demand from sustainable aviation fuel technologies.
Paul Gieselman highlighted the strategic importance of these discussions, noting, "Japan remains a premier market for U.S. corn exports and the Council is determined to not only defend it from corn of competing origins but help grow and enhance demand to increase total U.S. exports to Japan."
