The National Grain and Feed Association (NGFA) has announced the appointment of Dr. Berit Linnehan Foss as its new Vice President of Feed and Sustainability, effective December 18, 2024. This strategic move comes as the organization aims to strengthen its position in feed policy, regulatory advocacy, and sustainability initiatives.
Dr. Foss, who brings a wealth of experience from her previous roles in feed, regulatory affairs, quality control, and sustainability, will succeed Dave Fairfield, who is retiring after 23 years of service to NGFA. Her appointment is seen as a significant step in advancing NGFA's mission to promote a safe, sustainable, and innovative feed and grain industry.
In her new role, Dr. Foss will spearhead NGFA's efforts in developing industry best practices, navigating regulatory challenges, and driving sustainability initiatives. Her background includes a notable tenure as Director of Sustainability at POET, LLC, where she was instrumental in developing sustainability programming and regulatory compliance strategies.
NGFA President and CEO Mike Seyfert expressed enthusiasm about the appointment, stating, "Dr. Foss's extensive experience aligns perfectly with our mission. Her leadership will be crucial in supporting and advocating for our members during this critical time in the industry."
Dr. Foss, who holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of South Dakota, has been an active participant in various industry organizations and currently serves on the NGFA Sustainability Committee. Her expertise in feed safety and regulatory compliance is expected to be a valuable asset to the association.
