The Western Producer's Dave Bedard reported that a man working at a grain terminal near Lajord, Saskatchewan, lost his right leg August 19 after becoming trapped in a conveyor belt.

STARS air ambulance responded to the Lajord Inland Terminal around 1:30 p.m., roughly 35 km southeast of Regina. Kronau Fire Chief Paul Fischer said crews found the worker stuck in a bin being cleaned.

A doctor was flown to the scene, and the man’s leg was amputated on-site to free him. He was then transported to a Regina hospital.
