Sixteen state attorneys general have called on Congress to pass legislation allowing year-round sales of E15, a higher ethanol-blended fuel. The move has been welcomed by Growth Energy, the nation's largest biofuel trade association.

E15, which costs less than ordinary fuel, is seen as a way to support economic growth in rural America. Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird led the initiative, emphasizing the need for market certainty and consumer savings.

Emily Skor, CEO of Growth Energy, expressed gratitude for the attorneys general's efforts, stating, "There's no reason for delay." She highlighted bipartisan support in Congress and former President Trump's backing for E15.

Proponents argue that year-round E15 availability would drive rural growth and reinforce American energy independence. The push comes as stakeholders aim to implement the change before the summer driving season.
