Proven Seed will present two new Clearfield canola hybrids at Ag in Motion, July 21-23, targeting growers facing increased disease pressure and variable weather in Western Canada.
The new varieties, PV 281 CLCM and PV 785 TCN, offer multi-genic clubroot resistance and are designed to help growers manage disease while maintaining yield potential.
PV 281 CLCM provides improved Harvest Management flexibility, allowing better control of harvest timing and crop quality protection. PV 785 TCN, developed for regions with high disease pressure such as central and northern Alberta, includes NTACT Technology for increased pod integrity.
The hybrids are backed by more than 110 field-scale trials across Western Canada and research from 17 canola R&D sites.
“Our goal is to bring growers hybrids that deliver confidence in the field — from emergence through harvest,” said Jennifer Dale, canola product line manager at Nutrien Ag Solutions. “Through extensive testing across Western Canada, we identify products that help growers manage disease pressure, protect yield potential and perform consistently across a range of growing conditions.”
Trial results are available through Nutrien Ag Solutions retail locations and the Proven Seeds website.
Clearfield canola, a non-GMO option, provides access to specialty food and export markets while supporting crop rotation strategies.
Growers attending Ag in Motion can view both varieties in field plots and consult with local agronomists involved in the trials. The event will also feature “Picnic in the Plots,” with food from Western Canadian crops.
