Jacqui Fatka, lead economist for farm supply and biofuels at CoBank, will deliver the opening keynote at the 15th annual Women in Agribusiness Summit, scheduled for Sept. 22-24 in New Orleans.

Fatka will address market conditions affecting agriculture, including global trade, economic uncertainty, policy developments and supply-and-demand dynamics, according to conference organizers.

The economist has more than 20 years of experience covering agricultural policy, biofuels, trade, regulations and farm management. She currently edits Gleanings, a weekly newsletter from CoBank’s Knowledge Exchange research division.

Before joining CoBank, Fatka worked as an agriculture reporter for Feedstuffs, Farm Futures and Agri-Pulse. She holds a journalism and mass communications degree from Iowa State University.

Fatka grew up on a diversified grain and livestock farm in southwest Iowa and now lives on a small acreage in central Ohio.

The summit will feature more than 50 speakers and expects to draw over 700 attendees. Conference organizers have scheduled more than 20 hours of networking sessions during the three-day event.

The Women in Agribusiness Summit brings together professionals from across the agricultural industry for presentations and networking opportunities. This year marks the conference’s 15th anniversary.
