
The Midwest Association of Rail Shippers will hold its summer meeting July 13-14 at the Grand Geneva Resort, bringing together federal officials and railroad executives to discuss the state of the rail industry.
The meeting will feature speakers including David Fink, administrator of the Federal Railroad Administration, and Patrick Fuchs, chairman of the Surface Transportation Board. Railroad executives scheduled to attend include Maryclare Kenney, senior vice president and chief commercial officer at CSX, and Stefan Loeb, vice president of business development at Norfolk Southern.
“Rail remains one of the most efficient and reliable ways to move freight across North America,” said Luke Jones, MARS president.
Other speakers include Harris Ligon, co-founder and chief executive officer of Telegraph, Taylor Robinson, managing director at PLG Consulting, and Eric Starks, chairman of FTR Transportation Intelligence.
The event will include an annual scholarship golf outing, pickleball tournament, networking picnic and welcome reception on July 13. The business meeting is scheduled for July 14.
Registration costs $360 through June 12, then increases to $435. Onsite registration is $550. The golf outing costs $175 per person, and the pickleball tournament is $130.
Hotel rooms at Grand Geneva Resort and Timber Ridge Lodge are available for $187.
