The American Feed Industry Association extended appreciation today to members who completed their committee service terms, recognizing their contributions to advancing the animal feed and pet food industries through volunteer expertise and leadership.
Committee terms typically run from May 1 through April 30, with members serving three-year commitments across the association’s 14 committees. These groups support AFIA’s legislative, regulatory and global policy efforts while helping plan industry events and monitor emerging issues.
Committees span industry segments
The outgoing members represent a wide range of disciplines and industry segments, from aquaculture and equine nutrition to equipment manufacturing and pet food production. Companies like ADM Animal Nutrition, Tyson Foods, Kemin Industries and Blue Buffalo were among those with representatives completing their service.
“AFIA’s committees play a vital role in helping us stay connected to the evolving needs of the animal food industry,” said AFIA President and CEO Constance Cullman. “Their expertise and leadership guide our work, ensuring it remains relevant and impactful as we address current challenges and look ahead to future opportunities.”
Event planning and advocacy focus
Beyond monitoring industry developments and providing strategic input, committee members help plan major AFIA events including the Purchasing and Ingredient Supplier Conference, Feed Industry Institute, Liquid Feed Symposium and Equipment Manufacturers Conference.
The committees reflect the association’s broad membership base, with representatives from feed mills, ingredient suppliers, equipment manufacturers, nutrition companies and pet food producers contributing specialized knowledge to advance industry priorities.
New nominations open annually
Committee membership nominations open each year in early calendar months, with interested members encouraged to contact committee leads for information about available positions and requirements for the upcoming terms.
