The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) has opened registration for its 2026 Feed Industry Institute (FII), scheduled for June 15-18 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Held every two years, the four-day program offers a comprehensive overview of the animal food industry, covering everything from ingredients and formulation to production, quality, safety and regulatory issues.
Designed especially for newcomers, those transitioning roles, or professionals seeking to deepen their industry knowledge, FII provides practical insights into animal physiology, nutrition, feed additives, manufacturing techniques, and quality control systems. The program also addresses animal food safety, regulatory frameworks, international trade, and market strategies.
Yuan-Tai Hung, Ph.D., senior manager of research at the Institute for Feed Education and Research, called FII “one of AFIA’s most impactful educational programs,” emphasizing its value in helping attendees understand the science and processes behind safe, high-quality feed and pet food production.
Beyond classroom learning, FII offers networking opportunities through social events and group activities, including an optional outing to a St. Paul Saints baseball game. These events aim to foster connections among peers, instructors, and industry leaders, supporting career growth and professional relationships.
