The U.S. Grains and BioProducts Council (USGBC) used last week’s China International Import Expo in Shanghai to deepen relationships with Chinese industry leaders, government officials, and buyers. The event provided a key platform to promote U.S. corn, sorghum, barley, and related bio-products to a broad audience.
Led by USGBC Chairman Mark Wilson, Vice President Cary Sifferath, and China Director Manuel Sanchez, the delegation highlighted agricultural innovations tailored to China’s changing dietary and industrial demands. Sanchez emphasized the importance of maintaining market access and fair trade for U.S. producers.
The Council’s booth showcased the quality and versatility of U.S. agricultural products, while staff participated in panels and networking sessions addressing logistical and regulatory challenges. Attendees expressed optimism about expanding trade opportunities and interest in ongoing collaborations such as technical training, market intelligence sharing, and joint research projects.
Beyond the expo, the USGBC team held meetings with key end-users, including discussions at the U.S. embassy in Beijing and with Chinese government agencies and major poultry operations.
“As China remains a vital partner for U.S. agricultural exports, our participation underscores the importance of collaboration, innovation, and sustainability for mutual growth,” Sanchez said.
