Iowa Corn has announced the selection of 26 college students to participate in its 2025-2026 Collegiate Advisory Team program, which aims to deepen students' understanding of the corn industry through real-world experiences.

The year-long program will offer participants opportunities to visit the Capitol, tour industry operations and develop professional connections beyond their classroom education.

"Iowa Corn is dedicated to developing the current and future farmers to best serve the industry," said Joe Roberts, Iowa Corn Promotion Board president and farmer from Wright County. "I gained my first experience with Iowa Corn when I had the privilege of serving on CAT while I was in college."

The team includes two peer mentors — Ashlee David from Graceland University and Henry Rose from Iowa State University — along with 24 students representing 10 different colleges and universities across Iowa. Iowa State University students comprise the largest contingent with 14 members.

Participants will meet four times during the academic year, receiving training in leadership, communication, policy development and industry relations.

Roberts emphasized the program's practical benefits: "Getting engaged in your industry and networking with fellow farmers is something that is valuable and important. The skills gained in CAT provide an outside of the classroom experience, benefiting the next generation."
