The National Grain and Feed Association (NGFA) has announced the appointment of Allison Rivera as its new vice president of government and industry affairs, effective June 30. Rivera joins NGFA with a wealth of experience in agricultural policy and advocacy, most recently serving as Executive Director of Government Affairs at the National Cattlemen's Beef Association for nine years.
During her tenure at NCBA, Rivera managed key legislative priorities and developed strong relationships on Capitol Hill, particularly with committees crucial to NGFA's policy objectives. These include the House and Senate Agriculture Committees, House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, Senate Commerce Committee, and Appropriations Committees.
NGFA President and CEO Mike Seyfert expressed confidence in Rivera's appointment, stating, "Allison's deep knowledge of agricultural policy and her proven ability to build coalitions and drive results make her an outstanding addition to the NGFA team. Her experience aligns perfectly with NGFA's focus on delivering strong advocacy and representing the interests of our industry across key legislative and regulatory issues."
Prior to her role at NCBA, Rivera spent nine years on Capitol Hill in various legislative positions, including serving as Legislative Director for Congressman David Rouzer (R-N.C.) and Senior Policy Director for Congressman Doug LaMalfa (R-Calif.). Her extensive Capitol Hill background is expected to be invaluable as NGFA continues its advocacy efforts for the grain, feed, processing, and export industries.
Rivera, a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with degrees in Political Science and International Studies, expressed enthusiasm for her new role: "I am excited to join NGFA and its dedicated team to deliver for such a vital component of the U.S. agricultural supply chain. I look forward to bringing my experience and relationships to help NGFA's members navigate the legislative and regulatory landscape and advocate for policies that strengthen our industry."
