The National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) has appointed Lesly Weber McNitt as its new vice president of public policy, effective this week. McNitt, who previously worked at NCGA from 2017 to 2021, will lead the organization's Washington office and manage a staff of 11.
NCGA CEO Neil Caskey praised McNitt's appointment, citing her skills, experience, and strategic vision as crucial for navigating the current economic challenges facing corn growers.
McNitt's extensive agricultural background includes roles as chief of staff for Farm and Foreign Agricultural Services and senior professional staff for the House Committee on Agriculture.
"I am thrilled to return to NCGA in this new capacity," McNitt said, emphasizing her commitment to advocating for growers amid the dynamic policy landscape.
McNitt replaces Brooke S. Appleton, who recently joined the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a deputy under secretary.
