8 hospitalized after lightning strike at Central Valley Ag grain elevator

A lightning strike at CVA's new grain elevator construction site in Shelby, Nebraska, sent eight employees from McPherson Concrete to the hospital.

On July 7, eight people were hospitalized after a lightning strike at the construction site of Central Valley Ag's new grain elevator in Shelby, Nebraska.

According to KOLN, several emergency crews responded to reports of a lightning strike around 8:15 a.m.

Those involved in the incident were employees for McPherson Concrete based in Kansas. The eight were transported the local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
