On July 4, two grain elevators collapsed in Tynan, Texas, leaving one man dead and two others injured.

According to the Bee County Sheriff’s Office, two grain silos ruptured and collapsed onto two semitrailer trucks and another vehicle.

The initial call reported several subjects trapped inside. Two men were rescued and sent to area hospitals; the third was found deceased.

KRIS-TV reported the man killed was Sergio "Jason" Alvarez, an employee at the grain elevator. He had just celebrated his 37th birthday on July 3.

Ben Mengers and Andres Martinez are the men who were injured in the incident. The status of their injuries is unknown.

An investigation into how the incident occurred remains ongoing by both the sheriff's office and OSHA, authorities said.

Bee County Sheriff Department Chief Deputy Ronnie Jones told KIII TV the initial investigation is that it is an accident.

KIII TV reports an eyewitness to Tuesday's collapse told investigators one of the three victims was on top of the grain silo, while the other two were on the ground.  Alvarez was believed to be underneath the silo; the man on top of the silo is believed to be Mengers; and the other man on the ground was Martinez.
