Wisconsin Ethanol Plant Explosion

No injuries reported at Badger State Ethanol in Monroe, WI; silo was filled with dried distillers grain

An explosion Tuesday morning in a grain silo at Badger State Ethanol, Monroe, WI, was contained to a single silo, and no injuries were reported, says WKOW.

There were about eight workers in the plant at the time of the explosion shortly before 6 a.m., Fire Chief Dan Smits said in a Tuesday afternoon news conference.

There was no fire in the silo, but there was heat to contend with Smits said. The silo was about 40% full of dried distillers grain.
