Pullman Innovations Feed plant to shut down over odor lawsuit

A Cook County judge has pulled the plug on a South Side Chicago feed plant amid a lawsuit over foul odors and alleged air pollution violations.

CBS News' Shardaa Gray reported that a Cook County, Illinois, judge has ordered Pullman Innovations to temporarily shut down its animal feed plant on Chicago's South Side.

The order comes out of a lawsuit in which city and state officials accused the company of violating air pollution laws. Neighbors near the facility have complained about foul odors coming from the plant.

The ruling stops production at the site while the case continues. It is not clear what conditions Pullman Innovations will have to meet before it can restart operations, or how the court will handle the underlying allegations.
