Scoular VP to serve on ag advisory committee

Ed Prosser will serve on the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s Agricultural Advisory Committee.

Ed Prosser, a senior vice president at Scoular, has been asked to serve on the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s (CFTC) Agricultural Advisory Committee (AAC).

 Prosser will serve a two-year term on the committee. He will represent the interests of commercial users of derivatives in agricultural products, as well as the viewpoints of Scoular. The Commission, a federal agency, promotes the integrity, resilience and vibrancy of the U.S. derivates markets through regulation.

 “I am honored to serve on this committee," said Prosser. "At Scoular, we help to promote a free and fair marketplace for all participants, especially our producer customers. This appointment will allow me to represent those interests before our primary regulator."

 At Scoular, Prosser has led its Emerging Businesses division since 2021. He supports strategic growth investment opportunities, including biofuels, renewable energy, carbon and technology businesses/investments.

 Prosser has more than 35 years of experience in agribusiness, including 24 years at Conagra Brands and a role there as vice president and general manager of Agricultural Risk Strategies. 

Before coming to Scoular in 2018, he was the chief trade and risk officer for Gavilon. He has served on the CFTC’s Technology Advisory Committee as well as on the risk management committee of the National Feed and Grain Association. 

Prosser also is on the board of drectors for the Commodity Markets Council (CMC). He holds a bachelor of science degree in agricultural economics from Kansas State University.
