An unusual cargo of grain is about to hit U.S. shores, reports Bloomberg.
It’s corn being hauled in from Turkey, and it’s set to arrive at a North Carolina port in a matter of days, port data shows.
It’s pretty strange for corn to be shipped into the U.S, the world’s biggest producer exporter, especially from Turkey, a minor grower. But the reason those yellow kernels are traversing the Atlantic is because they’re most likely organic.
The vessel will be at least the second to arrive this year from Turkey, with a previous shipment carrying “organic cracked corn.”
