ADM announced a multimillion-dollar investment to increase throughput at its Optima, Oklahoma, grain elevator, with construction already underway on upgrades expected to be completed by mid-year 2027.
The project will add 150 cars of additional track capacity and one new rail unloading pit with two hard car diggers. These changes are expected to reduce train unload times by roughly 50 percent and significantly increase the facility’s throughput of both corn and corn gluten feed pellets.
The Optima facility receives crops and products from around the country for delivery to customers in the Panhandle region. The investment is designed to help the facility move higher volumes of grain and feed products more efficiently through ADM’s North American supply chain.
“ADM’s vast North American logistics network connects tens of thousands of farmers to markets, and our Optima facility plays a critical role in connecting grain and feed products from across the country to livestock markets in the Panhandle region,” said Tim McHenry, vice president, North America Grain & Feed. “Optima serves one of the country’s largest livestock-feeding regions, and we continue to see demand increasing, making efficient movement of grain and feed ingredients especially important.”
Michael Means, ADM’s vice president of North American Milling and Ag Services Operations, said the project reflects the company’s commitment to continuously improving operations.
