Kansas State University’s Department of Grain Science and Industry is accepting applications for a non-tenure-track, annually renewable instructor position focused on milling science and management. The role covers a 9-month academic year, with optional summer work to supplement salary.
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses and labs in milling and grain processing, equipment selection and maintenance, process operations management, and food and personnel safety regulations within the Milling Science and Management program.
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in Milling Science, Cereal Science, Process Engineering, or a related field, and have at least five years of direct experience in the wheat, corn, oat, or rye milling industry or related areas such as production, operations, or project management.
Strong communication skills and a passion for teaching and mentoring students are essential. The instructor will also support student recruitment, internships, curriculum development, and departmental outreach.
