RiceTec cut the ribbon on a new greenhouse facility, expanding the company’s ability to develop rice seed technology for growers around the world.
The rice seed technology company, owned by the Liechtenstein Group, held a ceremony with employees, board members and project team members who worked on the facility.
Princess Tatjana von und zu Liechtenstein, chair of the Liechtenstein Group and member of the Princely Family of Liechtenstein, officially opened the facility. Her presence reflected the organization’s long-term support for agricultural progress and scientific advancement.
Amitabh Mohanty, global head of R&D, spoke at the event about collaboration, safety and scientific excellence. Attendees learned about the greenhouse’s advanced infrastructure and its role in the company’s growth plans.
The facility will expand RiceTec’s breeding and research programs and speed up development of new technologies. The company said the greenhouse will help it deliver solutions that address rice farmers’ changing needs.
RiceTec said the facility will help farmers increase yields and improve resource efficiency as global food demand grows. Employees from multiple departments contributed during planning, construction and launch phases.
The company develops rice seed varieties and works to support farmers’ productivity and sustainability efforts. The new greenhouse gives RiceTec more capacity to advance its research and development work in rice science.
The facility represents the company’s investment in technologies designed to benefit rice producers and contribute to global food security as the world’s population continues to expand.
