CHS Inc. and Mid-Kansas Cooperative (MKC) have agreed to begin the process of ending their grain marketing joint venture, Producer Ag, which was established two years ago. John Griffith, executive vice president of CHS ag business and CHS Hedging, expressed gratitude to MKC for the collaboration.

“While CHS will no longer continue forward with the grain purchasing venture, I want to thank MKC for the opportunity for our cooperatives to work together in this way,” Griffith said. “Our ongoing relationship with MKC is strong and reflects our commitment to strengthening the cooperative system.”

The two cooperatives share a long history of collaboration in the region and will maintain joint ownership of three grain rail terminals in Kansas.

Brad Stedman, president and CEO of MKC, acknowledged the efforts invested in the partnership and expressed confidence in their continued work.

“We appreciate the dedication, cooperation and hard work that went into building our grain marketing relationship,” Stedman said. “We are confident in our continued work with CHS and look forward to serving our respective customers and owners in the Southern Plains.”

After the joint venture concludes, CHS and MKC will operate independently across the region, managing their own assets and grain marketing operations.
