The U.S. Grains Council (USGC) showcased the benefits of diversified feed grains at the 6th Global Oils and Oilseeds Industry Development Conference in Tianjin, China last week. USGC staff from Beijing attended the event, which focused on optimizing agricultural production and addressing rising costs in the livestock sector.
Dr. Zhu Zenyong, chief researcher at the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, delivered a keynote presentation on using varied grains and co-products to reduce livestock production costs. The talk emphasized the potential of U.S. corn, sorghum, and co-products like distiller's dried grains with solubles (DDGS) and corn fermented protein (CFP) in feed formulations.
Manuel Sanchez, USGC director in China, said, "The Council is reaffirming its commitment to supporting international customers in making informed procurement decisions for their livestock operations."
Attendees praised the presentation for its practical approach to addressing production costs. The USGC's participation underscored its role in international grain trade and its influence within China's agricultural industry.
