Total corn consumption was down 1% from May 2026 but up 5% from June 2025, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service Grain Crushings and Co-Products Production report released August 3. June 2026 usage included 92.2% for alcohol and 7.8% for other purposes.
Corn consumed for beverage alcohol totaled 3.83 million bushels, up less than 1% from May 2026 and up 25% from June 2025. Corn for fuel alcohol, at 467 million bushels, was down 1% from May 2026 but up 4% from June 2025.
Corn consumed in June 2026 for dry milling fuel production and wet milling fuel production was 92.6% and 7.4%, respectively.
Dry mill co-product production of distillers dried grains with solubles was 1.82 million tons during June 2026, up 3% from May 2026 but down 3% from June 2025. Distillers wet grains 65% or more moisture was 1.30 million tons in June 2026, down 6% from May 2026 but up 7% from June 2025.
Wet mill corn gluten feed production was 257,464 tons during June 2026, down 12% from May 2026 but up 3% from June 2025. Wet corn gluten feed 40 to 60% moisture was 193,976 tons in June 2026, up 2% from May 2026 and up 3% from June 2025.
Data is collected from all known mills that produce ethanol. Approximately 130 reports are received each month, representing about 90% of total capacity. The census universe was determined during operation profile interviews completed for each potential facility to identify the presence of ethanol production.
