U.S. wheat exports climbed 52% in the week ending July 23, reaching 319,200 metric tons as international demand strengthened across multiple markets, according to the Foreign Agricultural Service.
Bangladesh led wheat purchases at 58,300 MT, followed by Mexico at 56,400 MT and South Korea at 45,100 MT. Colombia and Peru rounded out the top five destinations with 35,000 MT and 26,600 MT respectively.
Net wheat sales for the 2026/2027 marketing year totaled 285,200 MT, down 2% from the previous week but unchanged from the prior four-week average. Indonesia topped new commitments with 70,000 MT, while the Philippines ordered 60,000 MT.
Corn shipments decline despite strong forward sales
Corn exports fell 14% from the previous week to 1,528,500 MT, with Mexico receiving the largest share at 404,400 MT. Colombia, Japan, Taiwan and South Korea completed the top five destinations.
Net corn sales for 2025/2026 reached 362,900 MT, up 9% from the previous week. Colombia led purchases at 173,900 MT, including 152,000 MT switched from unknown destinations. Mexico followed with 129,800 MT and South Korea with 117,300 MT.
Forward sales for 2026/2027 showed stronger activity at 1,062,400 MT, with unknown destinations accounting for 425,500 MT and Mexico taking 376,300 MT.
Soybean demand surges across multiple markets
Soybean exports jumped 64% from the previous week to 490,300 MT. Mexico led destinations at 108,600 MT, followed by Indonesia at 98,900 MT and Japan at 65,800 MT. Egypt and Algeria completed the top five with 65,200 MT and 49,500 MT respectively.
Net soybean sales for 2025/2026 totaled 302,300 MT, up noticeably from both the previous week and the four-week average. Egypt purchased 62,700 MT while Japan bought 58,900 MT, including 56,000 MT switched from unknown destinations.
Forward soybean commitments for 2026/2027 reached 1,333,200 MT, with China accounting for 519,000 MT and unknown destinations taking 372,000 MT. Mexico ordered 309,300 MT for the upcoming marketing year.
Meat exports show steady growth
Pork exports rose 10% from the previous week to 32,300 MT, with Mexico receiving 15,900 MT and Japan taking 4,000 MT. Net pork sales climbed 23% to 35,300 MT, led by Mexico at 15,400 MT and China at 9,700 MT.
Beef exports held relatively steady at 12,400 MT, down just 1% from the previous week. South Korea remained the top destination at 4,100 MT, followed by Japan at 3,300 MT.
Soybean meal exports increased noticeably to 367,300 MT, up 14% from the four-week average. The Philippines led purchases at 154,500 MT, while the Dominican Republic, Saudi Arabia and Colombia each received more than 32,000 MT.
